Iggy, slathered in peanut butter???

Sounds as appetizing as Cherry Garcia with no cherries... Garcia flavored ice cream...

Evening Brother...

Ooops, wasn't talking about D-Bears...thought I was corrupting a Dancin in the Street thread...

Iggy! Yes! (and, yes, if memory serves, peanut butter was only one of the things he slathered himself with. A past roommate of mine (Ft. Bragg) used to keep a poster of Iggy smearing blood from self-inflicted torso lacerations (I think a broken beer bottle...) Looking at that while tripping made for some fun minutes...
...but listening to the Stooges straight can be an experience too--and good at that!

thanks for the anecdote! sorry, realized after i posted that ducats probably wasn't saying a "hey now" for Dancinbears, but i just replied with what first popped into my head, sorta following the thread with the Iggy bit and the peanut butter; on another Stooges note, just got the new album, The Weirdness, today, but haven't listened yet; don't really know what to expect, but i'm guessing if it gives me a 50% thrill, i'll be happy ... cheers!

New Stooges? I DO live in a cave...

Let me know what you think as I may actually go out and buy a CD...as opposed to looting the archive...

I remember seeing Henry Rollins one time (tho I can't remember if it was an interview or his stand-up deal...) talking about Black Flag opening for the Stooges. He figured this was their shot to show up the vanguard, so the 'Flag pulled all the stops. They gave it their all, by Henry's account, and once they'd finished, panting & bleeding, Iggy grinned at them & blew them the F off the stage...

Iggy's one of the few guys I've ever heard Rollins speak of with near-reverence.

Saw Rollins Band open for "X" @ the 9:30 late last September---I think? Maybe it was August? It was incredible!!!

Speaking of Iggy AND the Stooges, they're going on tour here shortly... I missed being able to get tickets for DC's 9:30 Club (the show sold out in less than a day), but a friend & I are going to The Electric Factory in Philly for the 4/11 show. I can't wait!!!

Fillmore - 4/19 and 4/21. Iggy, the Asheton brothers, and the incomparable Mike Watt on bass.

The Garcia flavored ice cream was a Stephen Colbert bit about National Cherry month, one of the first times I saw the Daily Show... Guess you had to be there.

I never got into Punk... the price of being old I guess, always liked Reggae much more better meself...

...And often the twain shall meet when there is a common thread to baind...
